About the Role:
The Director of Account Management will lead and oversee Mentor Collective’s Account Management team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service and value to our partner institutions. This role is critical in driving client satisfaction, retention, and growth by developing and executing strategic account management plans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management, a deep understanding of the higher education landscape, and a passion for building and maintaining strong client relationships.

This role reports to the VP of Partnerships.

Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Account Management team.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics, and professional development plans for the team.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Strategic Account Management:
  • Develop and implement strategic account management plans for key accounts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and Mentor Collective’s mission.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level stakeholders at partner institutions.
Client Retention and Growth:
  • Drive client retention by ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and meeting client expectations.
  • Identify opportunities for account expansion, upselling, and cross-selling additional services or programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product and Partner Success teams to support new business initiatives and client retention efforts.
Operational Excellence:
  • Develop and implement processes and best practices for account management, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
  • Monitor and report on key account metrics, including client satisfaction, retention rates, and revenue growth.
  • Oversee contract renewals, negotiations, and client agreements.
Thought Leadership and Industry Engagement:
  • Stay informed about trends and developments in higher education and mentorship.
  • Represent Mentor Collective at industry events, conferences, and webinars.
  • Share insights and best practices with clients and internal teams.

Travel: This role requires about 25% travel to visit our partners.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in account management, client services, or related roles, preferably in the education or EdTech industry.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with a track record of achieving client satisfaction and revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of the higher education landscape and the challenges faced by institutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • 75% EST working hours overlap
  • U.S. work authorization required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of management experience
  • Experience working in a startup environment and navigating ambiguity 
  • Prior full-time remote experience

Compensation: $125,000 - $135,000 per year. This range outlines the base salary amount and is determined by experience. Total compensation would include base & variable compensation. This is a Full-Time, Exempt position.
